Bicycles Donated to Columbia County Children
Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett announces that the Sheriff’s Office, in coordination and support from County Waste & Recycling will provide bicycles to children in Columbia County for Christmas
For many families in Columbia County, the expense of a new bike for their child can be a bit much to cover, as well as the assembly that is usually required.
In this season of giving and supporting people in our communities, our local County Waste & Recycling company delivered 30 bicycles this morning to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office as part of their “Annual Christmas Bike Promise.”
School Resource Deputies are currently working with all the school districts in Columbia County in order to determine which families are in need of a bicycle. The Sheriff’s Office will then be delivering the bicycles to all the recipients before Christmas.
Sheriff Bartlett states, “I would like to thank County Waste & Recycling for including the Sheriff’s Office in their annual bike donation this Christmas. This donation of bicycles to the children of Columbia County lends a helping hand to families and ensures that there is a gift under the Christmas tree this year.”
