Christmas Bike Promise 2016
Every year, the employees of County Waste and Recycling raise money, assemble bikes and donate them to local children.
This December, County Waste and Recycling of South Cairo, New York donated 4 bikes to the East Coast Riders of Valatie, New York, who sponsored several families at Christmas.
East Coast Riders, is a 501c3 charitable organization that supports activities that benefit disadvantaged youth or ill children, hospice patients, individuals suffering from chronic illness, and low-income/needy families.
And, County Waste and Recycling employees also donated 16 bicycles with safety helmets to the New York State Troopers’ annual open house and toy drive in Livingston, New York.
In addition to the bikes, other organizations donated stuffed animals, dolls, race cars, games, and sporting equipment. All the donations were distributed to community organizations including Toys-for-Tots, social services and domestic violence service.
